SWARTZ, La. – On Monday, July 3, shortly after 12:30 a.m., Troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop F began investigating a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on LA Hwy 139 at Luke Drive. This crash ultimately claimed the life of 34-yearold Demetria Cooks of Rayville.

A Keachi man has been found guilty for a second time in the killing of 12-year-old Justin Bloxom in DeSoto Parish on March 30, 2010.

A man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a man on a gocart has been arrested.

On June 27 around 6:54 p.m. Shreveport police tried to conduct a traffic stop on a black Acura at Booker T Street and Broadway Avenue. The vehicle refused to stop, and a pursuit ensued.

Shreveport police have arrested a woman connected to a 2022 stabbing.

On June 17 around 6:20 p.m. Shreveport police officers were contacted in reference to a sexual assault. Police were called and informed of a 15-year-old victim who had been sexually assaulted by a known registered sex offender.
