Shreveport police have arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting at a southwest Shreveport bar that left a woman dead and another person injured last weekend.

A Shreveport man accused of raping a family member the night before her high-school graduation was found guilty of second-degree rape in Caddo District Court Wednesday, Seot. 13.

A federal grand jury in Shreveport has returned a three-count indictment charging former DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office (DPSO) Correctional Officer Javarrea Pouncy with federal civil rights violations for willfully using unreasonable force against a detainee, failing to obtain medical care for the detainee and obstructing justice.

On Sept. 11, around 9:31 a.m., Shreveport police warrants officers and Shreveport city marshal deputies tried to locate a wanted suspect in the 100 block of East Gregg Street.
