The American Electric Power Foundation has announced $42,000 in emergency funding for a Shreveport nonprofit impacted by COVID-19 in Southwestern Electric Power Co’s (SWEPCO) service area.
As a COVID-19 shut-in, I’ve tried to maintain routine and discipline. You know, awake at the usual time, bathe, shave, trim the beard, leave for work as before.
I arise hoping for sunshine, but the sun does not shine. Instead the world is shrouded in fog. A cool mist hangs in the air, and visibility is so low I can barely see the trees down the street.
For some individuals, it is not enough to appeal to them to adhere to health guidelines and safety requests.
Many citizens have more time on their hands than they want.
Others realize that during the COVID-19 virus pandemic they should do more for others.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina upset the applecart. With her fierce winds and rains, Katrina’s impact was phenomenon. One hundred thousand students or more felt her wrath. Not only did she affect the campuses of K-12, but she affected the college campuses also; so has the coronavirus.
As this is being written last Tuesday as the sun sets, our Ark-La – Tex has enjoyed a day of sunshine and has the hope for more days as we move into the month of April.
