A freeze warning was issued Thursday morning by the National Weather Service in Shreveport and will remain in effect until Friday morning.
Sub-freezing temperatures, as low as 29 expected in portions of North Central and Northwest Louisiana, Southwest Arkansas and East and Northeast Texas.
Frost and freeze conditions have the potential to kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Temperatures Thursday night are expected to be around 29, North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 59. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the morning.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. Calm wind.
