Remembering Lane Pittard

Lane Pittard and I grew up in Minden, La. Lane was older than me, but I knew him because his dad and my dad hunted and fished together. Mr. Bob Pittard, Lane’s dad, was a candy salesman and always brought candy to the house when he came to visit. Lane and I didn’t see one another for a number of years until we both started practicing law in the Caddo/Bossier/Webster area. When Schuyler Marvin started to run for District Attorney, both Lane and I were involved in helping him run. After Schuyler won, Lane became the First Assistant District Attorney, and I was appointed an Assistant District Attorney. Lane and I worked closely together, and I got the opportunity to know him even better than when we grew up in Minden.
