Volunteers of America North Louisiana (VOANLA) and the nationally recognized Communities In Schools (CIS) have formed a partnership and are in an unique position to address the barriers that stand between students and their success in life, thanks to generous investment dollars.

LSU chomps Florida, wins fourth straight versus Gators

This past Saturday, the LSU Tigers traveled to “the swamp” to take on the Florida Gators. After their tough thumping taken at the hands of the Tennessee Volunteers at home, the Tigers needed to secure a big win on the road to keep their season afloat. Thankfully, the boys from BR were equipped with plenty of gear to navigate that swamp and stay above water, beating the Gators 45-35 and improving their season record to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the SEC.

First Things First

If a dog is chasing a car, it had better have an idea what it would do should it catch the car. Otherwise, the dog might as well just chase its own tail. Likewise, a mayoral candidate should already know what he’ll do when he takes office — or he may lead the city to chase its tail, running in circles without direction or progress. I have a solid plan with purpose and the experience to get the city running in the right direction — chasing progress.
