Sean Payton to Denver Broncos

After months of speculation, the deal has finally been finalized. Former Saints head coach Sean Payton is headed to the Rockies to coach the Denver Broncos. The Saints still held the rights to Payton so his signing had to be accompanied by a trade. Here are the details of the deal that was struck between the two teams.

Tom Brady retires from football, again

We’ve gone through this story before. Tom Brady retired momentarily after last season before announcing he was coming back. This time I think he means it, and honestly, what more does he have left to prove? He is retiring with one of the most accomplished resumes of any player to ever play any sport, let alone football. Over the span of his 23-year career, he will retire with some of the following accolades. 7x Super Bowl Champion, 5x Super Bowl MVP, 3x NFL MVP, 89,214 regular season passing yards (first all time), 649 regular season TDS (first all time), 13,400 playoff passing yards (first all time) and 88 playoff TDs (first all time). If ever there were an NFL player to earn the “GOAT” tag, its Brady. Now, for those of you sad that you won’t be able to see his face anymore on Sundays, have no fear, because he has already signed a multi-million-dollar contract with FOX to broadcast games for the network.

AFC and NFC Championship!

Usually, championship weekend is reserved for good football games between the best teams in each respective conference. On paper, that’s what was schedule for last weekend as in the NFC, as No. 1 Philadelphia Eagles took on No. 2 San Francisco 49ers, and in the AFC, No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals. Unfortunately, we only got one game that was close, and even it felt like a dud of a football game, to me. In the NFC, the Eagles dismantled the quarterbackless 49ers 31-7.
