John Bel Edwards this week highlighted the designation of Hunter Industrial Park in Shreveport as an LED Certified Site, making the 135-acre tract near Interstate 220 a leading candidate for projects bringing new capital investment and jobs to North Louisiana. State, regional and local officials and business and community leaders celebrated the milestone at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at nearby Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College.
Since its completion in 1987, the Bossier Civic Center (BCC) has been a land-mark building and venue in our area. It’s been the place where memories were made and countless items were bought and sold. Despite that history and despite hosting over a hundred events annually, its future is unclear. Will it continue to be a public space? Will it continue to be the property of the citizens of Bossier City? Since the beginning of the year, city council members have declared the building to be “surplus,” and they’ve moved toward leasing it.
