Red River Cross Roads Mural by Diane Long!
Diane Long’s murals will be a part of the annual Sunflower Festival in Gilliam, La. this June 17. The mural is a depiction of the farming and cultivation of the Red River in the north Caddo Parish region. It was commissioned by the Red River Crossroad Historic and Cultural Association. Diane draws creative ideas from the open crop land of the area and felt that she wanted to depict the beauty of cotton, corn and sunflowers for all to enjoy. It is on the Gilliam Museum and Library wall.
SML Presents “Mix It All Together Now: No Cook Summer Salsas” Cooking Program June 5 - 29
Shreve Memorial Library will present “Mix It All Together Now: No Cook Summer Salsas” cooking program for adults as part of the library’s “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program. Instructed by retired head chef Jacquelyn Caskey, patrons will learn how to make a variety of summer salsas. The program will be held at Shreve Memorial Library branches throughout Caddo Parish beginning Monday, June 5, through Thursday, June 29. This program is free and open to library patrons, ages 18+. Registration is not required to attend.
