A Booker T. Washington High School alumnus will now represent his alma mater and the community it serves following a majority vote by members of the Caddo Parish School Board on Friday.

Birthday parties are taking on new meanings during the stay-at-home orders and social distancing with COVID-19, but Bossier Sheriff’s Office deputies were not going to let that stop them from making one little boy’s birthday special.

Shreveport police detectives are seeking a suspect in a shooting which left a local man critically injured last Saturday night.

U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson (LA-04) issued the following statement Wednesday after the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced a grant totaling over $6.5 million to Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. This grant will be used to continue the department’s response to combating COVID-19 through medical care support and emergency protective efforts for the state of Louisiana.

With families spending more time at home and out and about in their neighborhoods due to the coronavirus pandemic, they may notice the abundance of wildlife and birds with which Louisiana is blessed.

Detectives with the Bossier City Police property crimes division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the female shown in the accompanying photograph.

A bus crashed Monday at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Spring and Texas streets. The archway over the entrance to the Red River District stopped the bus from running into the Blind Tiger restaurant. Only a small part of an awning was affected. The Shreveport Police Department is continuing to investigate.
