WASHINGTON – Thursday, Sens. John Kennedy (R-La.) and Angus King (I-Maine) introduced the Calculate PPP Forgiveness Act of 2020, which directs the Small Business Administration (SBA) to develop a free calculator for businesses seeking to estimate their loan forgiveness amount through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).

As a result of the increased number of COVID-19 cases in the state, region, and SporTran’s own staff, the transit service returned to its Enhanced Alternative Schedule, which reduces all fixed-route and LiftLine (paratransit) services Monday, July 13.

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport has announced expanded community COVID-19 testing locations this week in Shreveport, La. Testing asymptomatic individuals is an important step in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking participants to be part of a clinical research study to determine whether a new drug can reduce the infection rate and progression to COVID-19. The health system is one of 10 sites in the United States and the only one in Louisiana involved in this study.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the Spring Street Bridge (LA 1 northbound) repair project from I-20 into downtown Shreveport continues to move forward. The contractor will soon begin installing piles for the repairs to the overpass.
