SWEPCO, IBEW, AEP Foundation, continue United Way Virtual Volunteer reading series

Beginning July 15, Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) employees and IBEW Local 329 union members will read children’s books for the United Way of Northwest Louisiana’s (UWNLWA) Virtual Volunteer Reading series. The series is part of the early childhood literacy program, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL).

The Boom or Bust Byway is a 136-mile road trip through more than 10 towns in rural north Louisiana. Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport partners with Oceans Heathcare on new behavioral health facility

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Oceans Healthcare announced a new partnership, Louisiana Behavioral Health, to open a behavioral health facility. Expected to open next year, the new facility will be located in Shreveport at 9320 Linwood Ave. Significantly expanding the services offered at the Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport – Academic Medical Center location on Kings Highway, the new location will increase capacity and provide a broader array of services. Plans include expanded access to inpatient and outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder services for adults and seniors.

LABI launches website aimed at judicial transparency

BATON ROUGE, La. — In its continuing push for greater transparency in Louisiana’s judiciary, the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI) today launched a new website to give citizens access to information on Louisiana’s courts. LouisianaJudiciary.com is a product of LABI’s Louisiana Free Enterprise Institute, a 501(c)(4) organization. This effort comes after the formation of LABI’s Judicial Program in 2019.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, the on-ramp to LA 3132 westbound from Walker Road in Shreveport, Caddo Parish will be closed.
