Centenary College Choir presents annual Christmas special on KTBS

Shreveport’s KTBS Channel 3 will air its annual Christmas special featuring the Centenary College Choir on Sunday, December 20, at 9:30 p.m. on KPXJ and Thursday, December 24, at 10:35 p.m., following the 10:00 p.m. newscast, on KTBS Channel 3. The Choir’s performance will also air in conjunction with a performance by the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra on Christmas morning, Friday, December 25, at 9:00 a.m.

In the last edition, I shared my concern about a block of buildings in the 600 block of Lake Street at McNeil in downtown Shreveport. The three buildings comprised 74,000 square feet of needy, challenged historic structures that were suffering from years of deferred maintenance. I worried there was no one nutty enough to take on the challenge. Part 2 picks up the story from there, as my husband, Steve, and I tried to assess the buildings.

It’s not the chief’s fault that black people are killing each other

Councilman James Green’s behavior at the recent City Council meeting was disgraceful and worthy of rebuke from the other six council members. Chief Raymond was only trying to respond to the questions of the council members, and he did not deserve to be berated by Councilman Green or his colleagues. It is not his fault that black people are killing each other in Shreveport.

Temporary Hours Set for 3 SML Branches

Due to continued concerns over the coronavirus pandemic, Shreve Memorial Library is temporarily reducing hours at three library branches in Caddo Parish. Part-time branches that were open to the public four or more days a week will operate under a three day modified schedule as a safety precaution, bringing their hours in line with other Shreve Memorial Library part-time branches.
