Peace Officer Standardize Training or POST Certification began early last Friday morning, Jan. 7, at the Bossier Sheriff’s Training Academy in Plain Dealing.

Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington promoted a deputy in a ceremony in the Sheriff’s Conference room at the sheriff’s office Criminal Building Tuesday morning.

Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives would like to warn all Bossier residents, particularly the elderly, about becoming the next victim of a new scam.

Alan Jackson was appointed to the Shreveport City Council by Gov. John Bel Edwards on Dec. 28 of last year. He was sworn into office at 12:30 p.m. that day and attended his first council meeting at 3 p.m.

The No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats were in town and ready for an early-season, heavyweight battle in prime time.

Yuck. That wasn’t much fun to watch. A depleted LSU football team arrived in Houston battered and bruised. Those bruises being from the constant hits the team has taken this season. The hits I’m referring to however, aren’t the ones they’ve been given on the field but more so the knocks they’ve taken off the field since their final regular season game versus Texas A&M.

LSU was left scrambling this week as their scheduled opponent, West Virginia, had to withdraw from their meet in amid COVID-19 issues within their program.

We’ve made it to the first-ever week 18 of the regular season, and I think I am still trying to figure out the Dallas Cowboys. One week they look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender and the next they come out and resemble a playoff pretender.
