Bossier Parish Community College Dean of Communication and Performing Arts, Dr. Ray Scott Crawford, was awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Gold Medallion for Region 6 during the 54th Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) on Feb. 27.

United Way of Northwest Louisiana (UWNWLA) and area businesses celebrated $2.2 million raised for Northwest Louisiana programs Thursday night. These funds have an impact value of nearly $6 million for our community, helping more than 100,000 lives in need in our region. Allocations will be made to UWNWLA programs and nonprofit services that work to serve ALICE, (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) citizens.

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Currently, colorectal cancer is the third most common preventable cancer. In 2021, an estimated 150,000 people in the United States were diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer rates are unfortunately rising, especially in younger people.
LSU Shreveport is thrilled to add micro-credentials, or MicroCreds, to its portfolio of offerings. MicroCred is geared for the working professional that wants to gain educational experience in an on-demand format. Each MicroCred course allows students to create their online learning journey based on interest and career goals. The flexibility of MicroCreds enables students to stack credentials in around 4-10 weeks each.
