Southern Hills Dog Park Ground Breaking

On March 4, ground was broken for Shreveport's second dog park. The Southern Hills Dog Park will be a nearly two-acre park, fully fenced with double gates, and will include a large and small dog area. A concrete path will lead to a central area with benches to meet new friends and view the dogs as they play. You don't have to have a dog to enjoy the dog park. It can definitely be a spectator sport from inside or outside of the fenced area. A one-time Community Development Special Project Grant to a non-profit designed to enliven and enhance the quality of life to an area was written by and granted to the Southern Hills Business Association. Some state money will also be used to enhance the area. Located inside the Southern Hills Community Park at 1002 W Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, the dog park should open soon. All friendly dogs must be up to date on vaccines with visible, current rabies tags to enter.

LSU received its Notice of Allegations from the NCAA earlier last week, and in Coach Wade’s contract, it states the school can fire him without penalty if he’s charged with a Level 1 or Level 2 violation. After the news came down, it was obvious that LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward decided that the allegations were too severe to retain Wade as head coach.
