One topic I like to throw around with my friends are random Mount Rushmore of different sports, teams or genres. So, I am going to start sharing some of my favorite Mount Rushmore choices so you may all discuss amongst yourself. We will start off with an easy one this week as I am going to try and come up with the MR for the New Orleans Saints. When figuring out who to place on the Saints Rushmore, you have to consider all the different levels of Saints lore. We have a legendary owner in Tom Benson, we have legendary coaches like Sean Payton, then there are the players. My Mount Rushmore’s will include more than just players; some will include coaches and some executives. Here are my choices for the New Orleans Saints Mount Rushmore. The Shreveport-Bossier City area has one of the lowest rates of educational attainment for areas of a similar size. Despite having a smaller number of higher degrees in the city, the same study found that the area actually has high-quality schools.

I want to take the time to remark on this recently completed legislative session. State representatives Steven Jackson and Tammy Phelps are to each be applauded for their dogged determination to pass into criminal law issues that have deeply affected many Shreveport communities, specifically to criminalize the theft of utilities by landlords, which was signed into law, and to criminalize the inaction of landlords of blighted property. I also thank State Senator Thomas Pressly for his successful effort to stop a bill from fellow Senator Alan Seabaugh to inexplicably end our state’s juvenile courts, including Caddo Parish’s own exemplary juvenile court.

Shreveport started the school zone speed camera program in September of 2022 under the Adrian Perkins administration. For a couple of years, it was a major headache for city council members and the mayor. Complaint calls and emails continued to flood in to local leaders.
