Will Louisiana legend Drew Brees provide a spark in his capacity as assistant coach for Purdue versus Louisianas favorite team? Who knows? O, whone thing is for sure, Purdue will be without Boilermakers quarterback Aidan O'Connell, record-setting receiver Charlie Jones, tight end Payne Durham and defensive leaders in cornerback Cory Trice and linebacker Jalen Graham, who opted out of the game to prepare for the NFL Draft. Coach Brian Kelly hasn't avoided key departures this season either. LSU (9-4) will be without starting defensive linemen B.J. Ojulari, Ali Gaye and Jaquelin Roy, who have opted out to focus on the NFL Draft, as well as a handful of players who have entered the transfer portal.

The Saints took the field on Saturday in Cleveland and would play the coldest game in New Orleans Saints history, a history that wasn’t on their side as they entered the game 0-6 in outdoor games this season before they managed to rally to victory 17-10 over the Browns. The game plan going in for the Saints had to have been fairly simple: Run the ball, and run they did. The twosome of running back Alvin Kamara and RB/QB/WR/TE Taysom Hill combined for 132 yards on the ground and two scores as the Saints used their strongest weapons on their toughest terrain. Up next for the Saints, as they look to continue their run for the playoffs, they travel to Philadelphia this weekend versus the Eagles.

In what was one of the coldest Independence Bowls ever, the Houston Cougars were able to warm up late to take down the University of Louisiana-Lafayette 23-16 to take home the 46th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl trophy.
