Shreveport Police Department holds fishing camp

The Annual Community Oriented Policing Bureau Youth Fishing Camp was held on Saturday, June 25. The camp offered fun, handson educational activities that encourage boys and girls -- between the ages of 6 to 13 years old -- to gain an improved positive attitude, greater appreciation for good moral values, and a better understanding of the keys that will lead to their own success. This active outdoor program promotes nature awareness, teach them to fish or improve their current fishing skills. Officers and Wildlife staff worked together to educate the children on fish habits, water quality, and conservation.

18th Annual Mary Louise & Ben Levy Jr. Conference benefits LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery

The Mary Louise and Ben Levy Jr. Endowed Professorship in Neurosurgery, established in 2004, continues to deliver world-class neurosurgical education to the LSU Health Shreveport Department of Neurosurgery. This annual event is made possible by the generosity of the Levy family and is the keynote educational event for the Department of Neurosurgery each year. It is particularly special because it also coincides with the department’s resident graduation.
