Two jailed in murder of Shreveport man
Back on August 20, 2019, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the Knights Inn motel located in the 4900 block of West Monkhouse Drive relative to a shooting. As officers arrived at the scene, they discovered 45 year old Derrick Terrell, deceased in the parking lot of the business, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds. Police detectives immediately began an investigation into the tragedy, during which time they gathered information and evidence linking multiple people to the crime.
On August 22, 2019, authorities arrested 49 year Tamala Ware for her alleged role in the murder. Ware was apprehended following the execution of a search warrant at the home she was located. Ware has since been charged with one count of Second Degree Murder, and is currently housed at the Caddo Correctional Center. Additional efforts on behalf of law officers led investigators to name two subsequent suspects in the shooting death. Terence Felix Jr, 29, and Johnathan Crenshaw, 34, were found to be linked to the crime and were actively being sought on murder warrants. On Monday, August 26, It was learned Terence Felix Jr was taken into custody in Abbeville, Louisiana, by members of the Abbeville Police Department. It was further learned that Johnathan Crenshaw was subsequently taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon, also in Abbeville. Both fugitives were booked into the Vermilion Parish Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder. Bond in the matter has been set at $750,000 individually.
