Shreveport Police investigate deadly shooting in Downtown Shreveport

Shreveport Police investigators are seeking information into an overnight shooting which left one man dead and two others injured.

Just after 10:30 p.m. on June 9, 2019, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 200 block of Texas Street relative to a shooting.  As officers arrived at the scene, it was learned three victims were suffering gunshot wounds after shots rang out outside the Royalty Cigar and Hookah Lounge.  It is believed a verbal dispute inside the establishment spilled outside onto the sidewalk where a subsequent dispute led to gunfire.

All three shooting victims were taken by ambulance to Ochsner LSU Health hospital with serious injuries.  Leejerryius Baines, 29, of Shreveport, died as a result of his injuries shortly after his arrival at the hospital.  The two other victims, a male and female adult,  remain in serious condition.  The roles of those persons shot have not fully been established in the matter; however, authorities are working feverishly to dissect all aspects of information gathered during this ongoing inquiry.  Persons with any information about this crime are urged to contact Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit P3tips.com to leave a tip online.
