Man who threatened Sheriff and deputies arrested for terrorizing

A Shreveport man was arrested this past week for making threats to harm Sheriff Steve Prator and Caddo Parish deputies.

An investigation by the Caddo Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division was launched after 49-year-old Hilliard Jenkins made statements by email threatening to kill the Sheriff and any deputies who came to his house in the 8800 block of Bernay Drive. Detective Nathan Everett obtained an arrest warrant and took Jenkins into custody at his residence on Wednesday, July 31. He was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on one count of terrorizing. Bond was set at $300,000.

On Friday, August 2, detectives conducted a follow-up investigation. They executed a search warrant at Jenkins’ house and recovered 12 firearms that were not locked up or properly secured. Jenkins’ son, 27-year-old Dillon Courtney Jenkins, is a convicted felon and resides in the same house with his father. The terms of his probation require regular home visits by law enforcement.  He is also restricted by law from having access to a firearm.

Dillon Jenkins was arrested and booked into CCC for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
