I-220 shutdown in Bossier causes morning traffic delays

Morning commuters experienced heavy traffic congestion Thursday morning, in East Bossier, when Westbound I-220 was shut down at the racetrack in Haughton. All traffic was being detoured on to Hwy 80 or redirected back on to I-220 East to go back to I20.

According to Bossier City Police, around 2 a.m, officers responded to I-220West at Shed Road, to a crash involving a tractor-trailer. No major injuries were reported. 

DOTD was notified and a crew was routed to the scene to free the trailer from a guard rail. 

Around 8:30 a.m., a UPS piggyback had broken down on the eastbound on-ramp to I-220, causing more delays.
