Deceased identified in shooting with CPSO

A man shot and killed during a confrontation with law enforcement officers in south Caddo Parish Monday, March 2, 2020, has been named by the Caddo Parish Coroner's office.

Cody Hodges, 34, of the 6800 block of Williams Road in Keithville, was killed in the incident that occurred just after 2 p.m. on the Williams Road property.

According to the Caddo Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a 911 call from the unidentified man’s ex-girlfriend, saying he was waving a weapon around, threatening to kill himself.

When the deputy first arrived, they found the man in his vehicle. Witnesses said the deputy and man exited their vehicles at about the same time.

The deputy asked the man to drop the weapon, but he pointed it at them instead. That's when the unnamed deputy fired 11 shots at the man, killing him

Hodges, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was identified through fingerprint comparison. He was scheduled for autopsy at Ochsner LSU Health hospital.

The incident remains under investigation by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's office, to which media should direct further questions.
