Crime Stoppers tip leads to arrest of homicide suspect

Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Homicide Unit have jailed a man in connection to an east Shreveport homicide that occurred on September 18, 2019.

On September 18, 2019, Shreveport Police patrol officers were patrolling the area near the 400 block Egan Street when they heard several shots being fired. Upon arrival, officers located 25-year-old Princess Cooper suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Cooper was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Based off of information and evidence obtained during their on-going inquiry, detectives issued a warrant for 33-year-old Ricky Waffer.  Shortly after 5:30 p.m. this evening, investigators received a tip from Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers revealing the whereabouts of Waffer. Following interviews, Waffer was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Second Degree Murder.
