Shreveport Police K-9 Dies of Natural Causes
Funeral arrangements have been made for a heroic Shreveport Police K-9.
Shreveport Police K-9 Casper died of natural causes on January 31st, 2022.
Casper had served with distinction from March 2017 until the time of his death.
During his career, Casper was involved in many arrests but none greater than on December 31, 2019. On this date Casper and his handler Cpl. Marsden apprehended the murderer of a Panola County Texas Sheriffs Deputy.
The Shreveport Police Department sent out the announcement on Wednesday, and wrote that "He was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed."
Funeral Services for Casper will be Friday, February 11th, 2022, at 2 p.m. The service will take place at 6440 Greenwood Rd at the Shreveport Police and Fire Training Academy. All are welcome to attend.
