BPCC Theatre announces its production of ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’
The Bossier Parish Community College Theatre Program and the Cavalier Players begin the fall semester with their summer production of “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher from the novella “Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca enshrined into Pro Football Hall of Fame
The annual Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in Canton, Ohio, featured twice the excitement this past weekend, as both the 2020 and 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame classes were enshrined due to a pandemic delay in 2020. Two alumni of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl were among those enshrined, as Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca celebrated the culminating moment of their careers in Canton.
LSUS Athletics announces Hall of Fame Class of 2022
SHREVEPORT, La. -- LSUS Athletics has announced three new additions to the Hall of Fame as the Class of 2022 will forever be enshrined in Pilot history for their incredible performances. The three newest members of the Hall of Fame include the 2012 LSUS Baseball Team, baseball force Kevin Smith, and one of the most decorated women’s basketball players in Pilot history, Kourtney Pennywell.
Artspace exhibition premiers William Joyce’s newest short film, ‘Mr. Spam Gets a New Hat’
Shreveport’s Academy Award-winning filmmaker, writer and illustrator William Joyce tells the story of the making of his newest short film, “Mr. Spam Gets a New Hat,” from napkins and a paper tablecloth sketch complete with gumbo stains to a world-wide collaboration and the use of a revolutionary style of technology will be featured in an artspace free exhibition opening Friday, Aug. 27, at 5:30 p.m. at, 710 Texas St. in downtown Shreveport. SRAC is also offering complimentary tickets to see the premiere of “Mr. Spam Gets a new Hat” at the Robinson Film Center at 617 Texas St. to anyone attending the artspace exhibition. Robinson will show the short film every half-hour from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Bossier City teen Haley Henderson received her Eagle Scout rank on Aug. 8 at a Court of Honor at Asbury United Methodist Church, becoming the first female Eagle Scout in northwest Louisiana, a prestigious achievement attained by some of the country’s most noteworthy figures.
