A Shreveport man was shot Monday night after allegedly forcing his way into a residence.

A major accident left multiple people injured and long traffic delays following a crash near the intersection of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop and Fern Avenue Monday.

Two men were sentenced in United States District Court for trafficking methamphetamine, Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced.

Quion M. Smith, Sr., 38, of Bossier City, Louisiana, was sentenced Thursday by United States District Judge Donald E. Walter to 96 months (8 years) in prison followed by 3 years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced.

On January 29, 2021 just before 5:00 a.m., Shreveport Police officers responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 1000 block of Shreveport Barksdale. On scene, officers were advised that a black male entered the business wearing a grey hoodie, black baseball cap with the Houston Astros logo on the front and armed with a semi-auto pistol.

Shreveport Police detectives are asking the public’s help to identify a suspect believed responsible for a theft of a motor vehicle, which occurred at a business in 9400 block of Linwood Avenue on January 1, 2021.
