Bossier City Mayor Lorenz Walker joins once again with the American Bikers Active Towards Education (A.B.A.T.E.) of Louisiana to proclaim the month of May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in Bossier City. The proclamation coincides with National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.

WEBSTER PARISH, La. – On April 29, at approximately 11 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 528 at Newt Brown Road that claimed the life of 43-year-old Nathan Paul Shull of Minden.

A Shreveport man was arrested for having crack cocaine in the presence of a minor, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

When Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington developed a drone unit at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office four years ago, he envisioned a law enforcement officer tool that would enhance public safety.

The Bossier City Police Department is currently accepting applications for jailers. The starting annual pay for a jailer position is $37,596. After one year on the job, jailer candidates are eligible to receive state supplemental pay of $500 a month. Bossier City Police Department employees are also offered medical and dental coverage with optional dependent coverage available. Other benefits include paid vacation days, paid holidays, military leave and sick leave.

WEST CARROLL PARISH, La. – In April, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) was requested by West Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office to investigate a complaint of child abuse.

A trial date has been set for a Shreveport businessman accused of swindling lenders and investors out of millions of dollars
