Bossier City Police Cpl. Matthew Bragg, Officer Brandon Bailey and Rawlis Leslie were recognized at the Bossier City Council meeting Tuesday for their swift and courageous actions in saving the life of a woman who was in great distress on the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge without regard for their own safety. Officer Bailey was unable to attend the presentation. Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams accepted the award on his behalf. Armed robbery of local store sends man to prison

Rekory Johnson, 26, of Shreveport, has been sentenced for his role in a robbery that took place at the Top Dollar Pawn in Shreveport in November 2018. Johnson pleaded guilty on Aug. 31, 2020, to robbery and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence and was sentenced to 117 months (nine years, nine months) in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
