A Shreveport man faces decades in jail after a Caddo Parish jury found him guilty of five separate drug and gun charges Wednesday.

A Shreveport man convicted early last year for crimes committed in 2018 was finally sentenced to four decades in prison, his brief reprieve occasioned by COVID-19 restrictions and delays.

Shreveport police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection to an armed robbery that took place earlier this month.


Law enforcement officials from a variety of agencies teamed up to rid the streets of Shreveport of as many illegal weapons that could be found.

Bossier City Police Cpl. Matthew Bragg, Officer Brandon Bailey and Rawlis Leslie were recognized at the Bossier City Council meeting Tuesday for their swift and courageous actions in saving the life of a woman who was in great distress on the Shreveport-Barksdale Bridge without regard for their own safety. Officer Bailey was unable to attend the presentation. Bossier City Police Chief Shane McWilliams accepted the award on his behalf. Convicted murderer sentenced to 150 years in prison
Rekory Johnson, 26, of Shreveport, has been sentenced for his role in a robbery that took place at the Top Dollar Pawn in Shreveport in November 2018. Johnson pleaded guilty on Aug. 31, 2020, to robbery and using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence and was sentenced to 117 months (nine years, nine months) in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

A man is behind bars after he reportedly hit and tried to choke his wife during an altercation Saturday.

A Waskom man was arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile in Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
