The Shreveport Police Department conducted an operation on Aug. 19, to combat Human Trafficking in our area.

The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office along with the Bossier City Police Department, Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, Barksdale Air Force Base and Bossier Parish 911 System held an active shooter drill last week.

A Shreveport man charged with two counts of possession of a firearm despite previous felony convictions pleaded guilty in Caddo District Court Monday, Aug. 8, and was immediately sentenced.

United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown announced that Michael Jarred Gentry, 33, of Shreveport, was sentenced today by Chief United States District Judge S. Maurice Hicks, Jr. on a charge of second degree murder. Gentry was sentenced to 480 months (40 years) in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

An Arkansas man was arrested on several charges after Louisiana State Police troopers say that he claimed that there was an explosive device in his car after he crashed on I-20 last Friday, Aug. 5.

On July 18, Shreveport police officers were dispatched to 1125 Shreveport Barksdale Highway in reference to a reported theft in progress. On arrival it was discovered that a black male suspect was believed to have left the store without paying for items.
