Cartavious Cursshuan Pouncy, 21, of Shreveport, Louisiana, was sentenced in U.S. District Court Monday, announced United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown. United States District Judge Elizabeth E. Foote sentenced Pouncy to 20 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release for illegal possession of a machine gun. Pouncy pleaded guilty to the charge on March 16.

Shreveport police detectives have arrested a man believed responsible for the early May murder of Raymond Behan on Common Street in downtown Shreveport.

On Friday, July 21, at 11:19 a.m., Shreveport police officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 7500 block of Line Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found that a female victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds all over her body.
