A Shreveport man pleaded guilty as charged on Monday to numerous felony charges.

A convicted felon is behind bars after he was found to be in possession of a firearm and narcotics.

John Michael Murphy, 36, of Many, La., was sentenced for trafficking methamphetamine, announced United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown. United States District Judge S. Maurice Hicks, Jr. sentenced Murphy to 12 years, seven months) in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.

A man was arrested for being in possession of a firearm. On Aug. 16 around 10:01 a.m. Shreveport police investigators were conducting a follow-up investigation in the 2900 block of Peach Street.
