Shreveport police sex crimes detectives have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 38-year-old Matthew Moreland in a domestic incident.

A man is behind bars following a violent domestic incident. On Aug. 14 at 12:35 a.m., Shreveport police officers responded to a call of domestic trouble in the 200 block of East 70th Street. Responding officers found that a male reportedly struck a woman in the head with a handgun and threatened to kill her. The female was transported to a local area hospital with injuries sustained during the incident. She is expected to recover.

On July 31 at 3:01 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a call of a shooting at Alabama Avenue and Poland Street.




Caddo Sheriff’s Office detectives and members of a multi-agency drug task force arrested a couple for possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, including fentanyl, in Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

A convicted felon has been arrested for having a firearm. On Aug. 14 around 2:23 a.m., Shreveport police patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Hollywood Avenue in reference to traffic violations.

Investigators with Shreveport’s Violent Crimes Unit are searching for a man believed responsible for the late afternoon murder of a woman in east Shreveport.


Shreveport police have released video showing the moments before last Saturday evening's double homicide outside of Moe's Pipes & More in the 1900 block of Centenary Boulevard. The incident took place after an attempted robbery inside the store.
On Aug. 5, Bossier Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents cited two store clerks in Bossier Parish for selling vapes containing nicotine to persons under the age of 21. Eighteen other stores checked did not sell vapes containing nicotine to underage buyers.

Bossier Sheriff’s detectives arrested John C. McCarty, 40, last Friday for raping a child under 13-years-old in Bossier Parish.
