Although the victims are now adults, the abuse occurred when they were between the ages of 13 and 14. The offender has been identified as 67-year-old Walter Jeff Shadoin. During the investigation, both victims reported incidents of sexual abuse and grooming involving Shadoin. He exploited his position as a family friend and mentor to isolate the victims and engage them in conversations about sexual acts on multiple occasions. These incidents took place in Caddo Parish between 2007 and 2010. Detective Christopher Ardoin contacted Shadoin for an interview, which led to the investigation's findings. As a result, Shadoin has been charged with two counts of sexual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and one count of misdemeanor sexual battery.
