At approximately 2:17 a.m. on May 18, 2020, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to a home in the 3000 block of Woodford Street relative to a shots fired call.  As officers arrived at the scene, it was learned an adult male was located inside the residence deceased, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds.  The man, whose name has not been released, was the sole occupant of the home upon officer arrival.  Approximately thirteen minutes following the shots fired call, officers were advised of an adult female shooting victim located in the 7000 block of Melrose Street. The woman, who was suffering a gunshot wound to a lower leg was transported to Ochsner LSU hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

Detectives with the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit were called to the scene.  Based on additional investigation, it was learned the two incidents were connected.  It is believed the shootings were the result of a domestic dispute involving multiple subjects.  Authorities suspect the female victim was shot by the deceased patient while she was present at the Woodford Street home.  Investigators further believe the woman drove away from the scene following the shooting.  At current, no suspect has been arrested in the slaying; however authorities are working tirelessly to procure an arrest in the matter.
