Police investigate overnight homicide

hreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred in east Shreveport last night.

On June 30, 2020, just before 9:00 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired and reports of a man being shot in the 7800 block of Gideon Street. Arriving officers located a 20-year-old male with a life-threatening gunshot injury to his should/back area. The man was transported to Ochsners LSU Health Shreveport where he was pronounced deceased.

Crime Scene and Violent Crimes Detectives were dispatched to the scene and launched their investigation. They learned that the victim and another man were in the front yard of a residence and a dark colored vehicle drove by and fired shots in their direction, striking the victim and killing him.

Investigators are urging those that may have witnessed the incident to contact Caddo-Shreveport Crime Stoppers and submit information anonymously. Their organization will pay $2,000.00 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for this crime. You do not have to give your name, only your information.
