Caddo Sheriff announces promotions

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator will promote two deputies during an 8:30 a.m. ceremony on Tuesday, June 22, at the Regional Re-entry Facility, 1121 Forum Drive, in Shreveport.

Gary Bailey, who operates the CPSO Stock Patrol, will be promoted to the rank of sergeant. Bailey joined the Sheriff’s Office in 1996 as a security deputy. He has also worked in Patrol, Narcotics, and K-9. He has served as the department’s stock patrol deputy since 2015. 

Steven Viola, a 19-year employee, will be promoted to Director of Fleet Maintenance. Viola was hired in 2001 as a mechanic and replaces Director Mike Gregory, who is retiring. Fleet Maintenance is responsible for the upkeep of all department vehicles, boats, trailers, accessories, and equipment.
