Mudbug Madness Cancelled
Shreveport - Bossier's much-loved crawfish festival will not be happening this year!
Mudbug Madness 2020 is the first festival cancellation announced as a result of COVID-19.
The announcement was made Wednesday night, via the festival's Facebook page.
"After much consideration, we must inform everyone that the 2020 Mudbug Madness Festival has been canceled.
We would like to thank you for your patience in allowing us the time to make this difficult decision.
However, we know that this is the correct course of action in order to keep everyone healthy and allow more time for the situation to stabilize.
We will be having some social media fun coming up to keep everyone in the Mudbug Madness spirit!
So stay tuned and stay safe until we can all be together again!"
The three-day festival held each Memorial Day weekend, according to the festival, is nationally recognized as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events, drawing as many as 56,000 people in one day.
