Bossier Schools receive large water shipment

More than 9,000 cases of bottled water will soon be in the hands of students as Bossier Schools reopen its campuses today, all thanks to the Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness.

At the school district’s request, BOHSEP assisted in securing a large amount of bottled water to ensure students and staff have access to safe drinking water until area boil advisories are lifted.

This is a huge endeavor, given the limited water supply throughout northwest Louisiana, and was made possible by the coordinated efforts of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and the Louisiana National Guard.

Bossier Schools sent a box truck, Tuesday morning, to pick up the pallets of water, which will be taken to a central location and then distributed to schools throughout the parish.
