Celebrating 40 Years, Gusher Days Festival

Free, family-friendly event will feature food, children’s activities, fun competitions, live entertainment and more.

 

OIL CITY, LA – Gusher Days Festival is celebrating 40 years of festival fun on Saturday, May 4 at Earl G. Williamson Park, 11425 Hwy. 1 South in Oil City from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will feature arts and crafts, food vendors, petting zoo, obstacle course, bouncy houses, fun competitions, live entertainment, fireworks, and more.

 

Gusher Days Festival presents a unique opportunity for festivalgoers to learn about Oil City’s heritage with an afternoon of entertainment and a night of fireworks. Many look forward to the Gusher Days Festival’s classic fair food options such as smoked meats, funnel cakes, snow cones, hot dogs, and more.

 

“Returning to this year’s festival is an all-time local favorite, Donny Dogs.  Donny Jackson is a food vendor known for his delicious hot dogs and sausage links,” said Casey Hartley, Vice President of Gusher Days Festival.

 

Added to the list of scheduled events is the popular string of Gusher Day Festival competitions including a gun shootout, archery shootout, and a pet show. The North Caddo Shooting Club will host this year’s shoot out for ages 9 and up. Registration is $30 and begins at 10 a.m. The competition is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

Panola Archery Club will host a 3-D archery competition for all ages, which includes a 20-target course. Registration is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Archers will begin immediately after registration. Gusher Days Festival prepares for the big day with a pet show a day before the festival. On Friday, May 3, the pet show categories include smallest, largest, prettiest, most handsome, most unique, best costume, best trick, most photogenic, and more.

 

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The pet show is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entry into the pet show competition is free.
