Police were called to the residence on Sunday, May 11, at about 8:15 a.m. after Beadle’s mother went to the house to check on her after not hearing from her since the Friday before, when Jacqueline took her child to her mother’s home for baby-sitting. Beadle’s mother found the two victims inside the residence.

A local attorney has once again won an appeal in the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal, concerning a nine-year legal battle over a previous home he owned in South Shreveport; however, that same court has denied his request for over $200,000 in attorney fees for representing the case himself.

Robert Bond, who is accused of murdering his wife, a former Bossier Parish Schools teacher in November, was able to cut a deal with Bossier prosecutors through his attorney, Randall Fish, and entered a plea of guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter this week.

Now I’ll admit that most of us do not regularly run down to our local supermarket to check on whether a fresh shipment of horsemeat has arrived. But I’m not all that enamored by eating nutria, a large rat, that is regularly publicized as a tasty dish by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

As the largest recipient of taxpayer dollars in Caddo Parish, the CPSB is indeed an important position. The school board generally receives less publicity than the Shreveport City Council or the Caddo Commission. And similarly, the “political importance” assigned to service as a school board member is the least appreciated.
