Shreveport Police violent crimes investigators have had a man jailed for allegedly fabricating a story about being shot by several suspects in west Shreveport last week. On Jan. 17 just before 4 p.m., Shreveport police responded to the 4700 block of Lyba Street on reports of a shooting.

That's not very good. The worst one this year is the Influenza A (H3N2) strain. Your protection will depend on the type of shot you got (trivalent or quadrivalent). If you're over age 65, chances are you were given the high-dose trivalent, which produces a better immune response.

Representing Bossier Parish Schools as the Elementary Student of the Year is fifth grader Ian Knudsen, who attends Kingston Elementary. He is actively involved in robotics, 4-H, Student Council and is co-founder of the Kingston Military Kids Club. Ian also volunteers with HUB Ministries and holds three Tae Kwon Do world championship titles.
