Bossier City cops say two people didn’t get the memo that if you shoplift in Bossier City, they will track you down and throw you behind bars. Two people learned the hard way last Friday when Bossier City cops were hot on the trail of two suspected thieves after they allegedly stole items from Cavender’s Boot Store in the 2300 block of Airline Drive.

The mother was told to take the child to the doctor to check and make sure nothing had been “crushed.” The child was subsequently taken to the doctor and the doctor said the injuries appeared to be from a chemical burn — not from being crushed. The parent was advised to take the child to the burn unit at University Health Hospital at 7 a.

Heather Brown, now 29, took her case to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, claiming that she had been molested by her dance instructor, Melonie Hornbeak, and Hornbeak’s husband, Greg, while in their care, often living in their home. She told detectives that the sexual abuse started when she was only 11 years old.
