Last Tuesday, July 17, a Shreveport police officer was conducting a business check at Family Dollar at 810 Caddo St. in reference to suspicious activity. The officer allegedly saw 40- year-old Andrew Dakota Speed of 3220 Meriwether Road driving a small, white compact vehicle at a high rate of speed prior to entering the parking lot at 810 Caddo.

Last Thursday, July 19, Shreveport police officers responded in reference to a domestic call. The victim claimed that 28-year-old Karldarl Septo Hill of 2967 Grassmere pushed her on the couch and pointed a loaded firearm to her head and fired a shot into the wall with children present.

Shreveport Police Deputy Chief of Police Bill Goodin said Thursday that detectives were assigned to investigate the case of cyberstalking, and based on information and evidence gathered during their inquiry, the detectives procured the arrest warrant on July 17 charging Larremore with one count of cyberstalking.

Last Thursday, July 19, Blanchard Police Sgt. B.K. Anderson was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at 5856 Tom Ridge. It was called in by 21- year-old Ariel Renee Beasley, who reported that she and her husband, Dylan Parker, had been hitting each other.

Durden was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on a charge of DWI first offense and driving with a suspended driver’s license. He admitted that he drank a 12-pack of beer prior to his stop and had no clue of his location when he was arrested.

A Bossier City Police officer responded to an area hospital in reference to an incident that occurred at a residence in the 1200 block of Pecan Lane. The officer found evidence that Simpson grabbed a pot of boiling water and threw it on the victim causing first and second-degree burns to the victim’s shoulder and neck.

The officer had been dispatched to a business in the 700 block of DiamondJacks Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. The officer found that Whitehead was yelling profanities at other subjects outside the location and that she pushed a male victim. Whitehead also refused to identify herself and was transported to the Bossier Police Department jail.

Sauseda on a charge of resisting an officer, headlight out, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance. The officer saw a vehicle traveling with a headlight out and conducted a traffic stop. Upon contact, the driver said her driver’s license was suspended.

I have a confession to make. And President Trump is not going to like it. I’m a southern country lawyer. Darn proud of it. In the president’s words, I may be a “dumb southern country lawyer.” I just hope the president does not have a sneering contempt for all of us Louisiana lawyers who cut our teeth practicing law in the rural areas of the Bayou State.

With incumbents, the obvious factors are job performance while in office. For the mayor, this involves the leadership of the city. With council incumbents, attendance at work sessions and council meetings, votes on key issues and responsiveness to constituent matters are issues for voters.
