THE INQUISITOR IS NOW OWNED BY SETTLE TALK

Former attorney, Inquisitor columnist takes over helms

As of 12:01 a.m. Friday (October 11th) ownership of The Inquisitor has been transferred to Settle Talk. The issue on the stands tomorrow (Friday) was the last publication by Danny Lawler Enterprises.

The Inquisitor Newspaper was founded on April 17, 1997 by its original publisher Danny Lawler in Shreveport, Louisiana. The newspaper was started by Lawler, who worked as a police officer in Caddo Parish, Louisiana and thought there was a void in reporting the work of police officers and local law enforcement. Lawler filled that need by creating The Inquisitor Newspaper, which is now the largest paid weekly newspaper in the state of Louisiana. It's newly designed website has allowed The Inquisitor to become a daily newspaper on steroids! The new website, www.theinquisitor.com currently provides up to the minute local news as it occurs by utilizing reporters who report the news directly and instantly from the field.

After 22 years of serving the Caddo, Bossier, Webster and DeSoto Parishes of Louisiana, Lawler sold the newspaper on October 10, 2019 to local columnist and real estate title and abstract tycoon John E. Settle through his company Settle Talk, LLC.

The format of the paper will remain basically the same. Like it or not, crime sells! The staff of the paper will now be employees of Settle Talk.

Starting next Friday (Oct. 18) there will be much more coverage of Caddo/Shreveport politics. And hopefully, a freelance reporter will help with coverage of Bossier politics. More columns of local interest will be added for local sports, hunting/fishing, local organizations, and the like. Breaking news stories will also be a high priority.

Reader input as to additional columns, freelance writers and columnists, and advertisers is welcomed.
