The City Council was presented with another proposal Tuesday, this one requesting approval to issue up to $65 million in street improvement bonds to help tackle one of the city’s most aggravating quality-of-life issues. Like previous proposals, the source of the funding to repay the debt would be a portion of the franchise fee.

The Shreveport Riverview Phase II has been contracted out to the ELA Group, and the Red River Waterway Commission will oversee the project. Preconstruction meetings between representatives from the city, the contractor and Kevin Bryan, the architect, have been positive, and no delays are anticipated.

Parents can quickly search for offenders in their area by using the statewide database. Simply enter your home address to view a printable map of your neighborhood and any offenders in the surrounding area.

Parker oversees the Sheriff’s Work Release Program. She joined the Caddo Sheriff’s Office In February 200 and has worked in a number of areas at the Caddo Correctional Center, including booking, security, classifications, detention records and special investigations.

In the fall of 2011, Mayor Glover unveiled a plan to provide speedier relief for the city’s crumbling streets and sidewalks without creating any new taxes for citizens to pay. His plan was well-received by many residents, particularly those who live in areas with streets and sidewalks that have long needed reconstruction.

Jackson previously worked for former Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover, and then for Mayor Ollie Tyler for a few months before being terminated. From there, Jackson went to DRCHC. Reportedly, Glover helped him get this job; Jackson is a selfproclaimed protégé of Glover.
