Just a tenth of a point from the top 10, Bossier Schools’ ACT composite score of 20.1 is reflected by the district ascending five spots from 2014-15. The higher composite score also marks tremendous gains since 2011-12, when the state began requiring all high school juniors take the ACT.

The guest speaker was Col. Roy P. Fatur, chief of staff, Eighth Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base. Col. Fatur is a 1991 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and received distinguished graduate recognition. He earned a rating of Senior Navigator and has more than 2,000 flight hours.

Inmates at the Bossier Sheriff’s Office Corrections Facilities began the harvest of peas this week at the “Pea Farm” on 23 acres of land near the Bossier Minimum Security Facility. The food they collect will then be used to feed some 1,400 inmates at the Bossier Parish corrections facilities in Plain Dealing.
