Reserve police officers are members of the community who are trained as certified law enforcement officers in accordance with state requirements and supplement the full-time Bossier City police officers in a variety of duties.
In addition to officers, police jury members approved three administrators to new terms. Bill Altimus was reappointed parish administrator for a one-year term while Rachel Hauser was named parish secretary for another two years, and Sheryl Thomas was voted another two-year term as parish treasurer.

Every five years, several ad valorem property taxes are placed before the citizens for renewals that provide basic city services and salaries/ benefits for our first responders and other city employees. The last time this occurred was 2013. In 2017 the taxes expired, and we made the decision to only go out for the taxes when necessary, and not before.
