Bossier Parish property tax notices were mailed Monday, and homeowners can make their payments in person, by mail, online, and drive-through at convenient locations in the parish. All locations will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for holidays.

Tueday, Gov. John Bel Edwards and CSRA President and CEO Larry Prior dedicated the new 96,000-square-foot Integrated Technology Center that ultimately will host 800 new direct jobs and anchor the 3,000- acre National Cyber Research Park in Bossier City.

Whittington. the tiny quilts will be given to deputies and Posse members to carry in their pockets as a reminder of God’s love as they go about their duties. The quilts were made by church and community members. They will be distributed to all area law enforcement agencies.

The Bossier Sheriff’s Office has kicked off its Christmas food drive, placing barrels at the entrance to the Bossier Parish Courthouse in Benton, the Viking Drive Substation at 2510 Viking Drive in Bossier City and at the Tague Parkway Substation at 3135 Arthur Teague Parkway.

Ford said FEMA had agreed to pick up 75 percent of the $160,000 cost of replacing a crane that was being used on the wastewater treatment plant’s outfall structure located on the banks of the Red River. That structure went under water when floods hit in March and is now being rebuilt.

The Green Bay Packers are one of the best examples of how a sports franchise should operate. They don’t go to the state capitol hat in hand, looking for a handout. The team is owned by citizen stockholders all over Wisconsin, and the Packers’ management doesn’t regularly try to blackmail public officials under threat of moving.
