National Hot Air Balloon Championship with 43 of the best balloon pilots in the country competing against each other throughout the week, as well as a festival that will include balloon glows, live performances by Christian and country music stars, fireworks displays, tethered balloon rides, a children’s play zone, vendors and more.

Sickle Cell of Northwest Louisiana will bring back its annual Sickle Cell Softball Tournament to the newly refurbished park on July 7-9. It will mark the 40th anniversary of the event, which is a National Softball Tournament sanctioned by the American Softball Association that draws softball players from across the country to play here.

Every five years, several ad valorem property taxes are placed before the citizens for renewals that provide basic city services and salaries/ benefits for our first responders and other city employees. The last time this occurred was 2013. In 2017 the taxes expired, and we made the decision to only go out for the taxes when necessary, and not before.
