“It is unique in that it’s just not a 5K or just a mud run. They run through many obstacles. Part of the race goes through the Corn Maze, part of it goes through the Haunted Trail that we have in the woods, part of it goes through mud and obstacles. … And there’s some sand and hills and stuff that go through there.

“We met with the local committee, checked out the race site, assessed the infrastructure the city and area has in place for hosting this type of an event, and we were convinced this is where the new home to the Outboard Performance Craft U.S. Nationals needs to be,” said Dan Bunting, race director for the Powerboat Nationals.

There are various age groups for runners age 13 through 60+. Overall male and female finishers receive $200 for first place, $150 for second place and $100 for third place. Each top age group finishers receive an award as well. For the 12 and under runners, the overall finisher ini the Kids Run will receive $50.
