The suspect was a passenger in a vehicle stopped on a traffic stop. Upon contact, the officer allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, and .4 gram of a leafy substance suspected to be marijuana was found. Post-Miranda, the suspect said it was not his.

charge of driving under suspension and safety belt use and on a fugitive warrant by the Louisiana Probation & Parole Board. The suspect was allegedly seen driving without a seatbelt and was stopped. Upon contact, the suspect was found to be driving under a suspended license.
